Family member says Hubbard fire victim has died
HUBBARD — An elderly man injured in a fire on Lewis-Seifert Road Thursday evening has died.
A family member of Louis Krolopp, 78, who owned the Lewis-Seifert Road home, said Krolopp died late Thursday night after being flown to Pittsburgh Mercy Hospital with burns to a large part of the front of his body.
Fire Chief John Clemente said Krolopp was in the garage portion of the home cleaning and preparing rifles for hunting season after 5 p.m. when he somehow caught himself on fire. Clemente said Krolopp suffered burns on most of the front of his body.
Firefighters did find several hunting rifles in the shed area of the garage.
