Donations are needed

YOUNGSTOWN — Beatitude House is asking the community to donate items that homeless children living at the home can give to their mothers at Christmas.

Appreciated are practical items such as gloves or socks, or “luxury” items such as bath sets or perfume (no candles).

The children will get to pick a gift from the donated items, and volunteers will help with the wrapping.

To help, take unwrapped gifts to 238 Tod Lane between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The deadline is Dec. 15.

Dictionaries distributed

AUSTINTOWN — The Rotary Club of Austintown has completed its fall project of giving a dictionary to each third-grader in Austintown and North Jackson schools. Since the project was initiated eight years ago, more than 700 dictionaries have been delivered to pupils at the schools each year.
