City man robbed for third time this year

staff report

YOUNGSTOWN — A city man has been robbed for the third time while walking the streets of the South Side.

Police reports say the 28-year-old Flo-Lor Street man was walking on Evergreen Street early Thursday when he was blindsided by someone and repeatedly hit in the head with a handgun. The thief, according to reports, then took $23 out of the man’s pockets.

The man told officers he got up and ran, but the thief got into a gold-colored Cherokee and followed, firing two shots, missing both times.

The man was treated by paramedics for a gash to his head.

Reports say the man has been robbed three times in 2008 while walking the streets.
