Campbell woman to vie in Miss Ohio USA pageant
CAMPBELL — Cassandra Danielle Walker of Campbell will compete for the title of Miss Ohio USA the weekend of Nov. 20-22.
The competition will take place at the Vern Riffe Center for the Arts on the campus of Shawnee State University in Portsmouth.
Walker, a student at Youngstown State University, helps to coach softball for girls ages 13-17. She enjoys reading and spending quality time with her family and being involved in her church’s youth program.
Friends are welcome to attend the pageant to support Walker, who is a daughter of Jerri Butler and Terence Walker.
Benefit dinner to be at Hermitage church
HERMITAGE, Pa. — Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 3325 Morefield Road, has scheduled a spaghetti dinner from 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday as a benefit for Stephen Comninos, who is suffering from Lou Gehrig’s Disease.
Donations will be $7 for adults and $3.50 for children 10 and under. There will also be a Chinese auction.
The fundraiser will be supplemented by Thrivent Financial, and all proceeds will be applied to the patient’s medical expenses.

Young professionals to receive awards
YOUNGSTOWN — Mahoning Valley Professional 20/30 Club in partnership with the Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley is sponsoring the fourth annual 40 Under 40 Awards ceremony Nov. 20 at DeYor Performing Arts Center.

Reunion venue changed
YOUNGSTOWN — The reunion committee of Cardinal Mooney High School Class of 1998 is announcing a change in the location for the upcoming 10-year reunion.
The reunion has been changed to an informal get-together at 8 p.m. Nov. 29 (food and drinks at attendee’s expense) at BW-3 in Boardman.

Youngstown Club show to feature Joe Augustine
YOUNGSTOWN — The Youngs-town Club, 201 E. Commerce St., will welcome Joe Augustine on Nov. 22.
The cost of $40 per person includes dinner and the show. A cash bar will be available; tax and gratuity are not included.

Dinner, music, dancing featured at benefit
YOUNGSTOWN — The public is invited to participate in an “Evening in White” benefit event scheduled from 7 to 11 p.m. Nov. 22 at St. Mark’s Hall, 3560 Logan Way.
Proceeds from the evening will go toward medical expenses incurred by Ella Peterson, who needs a liver transplant.
The evening will include a buffet dinner, a band, dancing and a brief program.
The cost for adults is $25 per person or $40 a couple, and $15 for those 12 and under.

Ursuline Preschool plans Christmas craft show
CANFIELD — Ursuline Preschool and Kindergarten will present its 20th annual “Once Upon a Christmas” craft show from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 6 at the center, 4300 Shields Road.
Admission is free, and there is ample parking.
The show will feature more than 100 vendors selling holiday crafts and gift items.
Several raffles will be featured, including a Family Treasure Chest, filled with items for the whole family, a Hi-Tech Family Fun Basket of the season’s hottest electronic gadgets, and other baskets that will be worth over $700 each.
The show also features a 50-50 raffle and a theme basket raffle. Tickets for the raffles can be purchased in advance at the school or the day of the craft show. Winners will be drawn at the end of the craft show.
Shoppers can also enjoy homemade baked goods and candy. The concession stand will also offer a variety of snacks beginning at 9 a.m.
All proceeds from the show and raffles benefit the school.
Salem center offers Toddler Tumble and Swim
SALEM — The Salem Community Center is offering a Toddler Tumble and Swim Class from 10 to 11 a.m. Mondays and Wednesdays from Dec. 1 through Dec. 17.
The class is open to all children 1 to 5 years old. The program, for kids and parents, is designed to work on small and large motor skills.
Swimming will be the activity on Mondays. and tumbling will be on Wednesdays.
