NEW MIDDLETOWN — New contracts were approved for the three full-time members of the New Middletown Police Department when village council met Monday.
Police Chief Vince D’Egidio, who made $37,460 annually as a sergeant, will be paid $47,500 per year for the chief’s job which he assumed in September. The former chief made $48,420.
Sgt. Ken Goist had his annual wages increased from $37,460 to $38,210. The village’s first full-time patrolman, Phillip Schaper, will make $29,120 for the year which breaks down to $14 per hour compared to the $11.64 he made hourly as a part-time patrolman.
Council unanimously approved the one-year contracts.
Members learned that a $45,642 grant has been awarded from the Ohio Public Works Commission for completion of the Stacy Drive drainage project. The village will pay for the remainder of the project which totals $66,148.
