Sunday: The Hartford native started in 23rd position for the Checker O’Reilly Auto Parts 500 at Phoenix International Speedway and finished in 20th position, one lap off the pace. He ran in the top 20 most of the day, getting up to 16th place on lap 78. Driving the Bad Boy Mowers Toyota, Blaney picked up 103 points in the driver standings.

Year to date: The Buckeye Bullet moved up one spot in the driver standings, surpassing Reed Sorenson for 30th place. Blaney is 86 points behind Michael Waltrip for 29th place.

Next: NASCAR’s top series concludes its season at Homestead Speedway in south Florida for the Ford 400. Television coverage (WYTV-33) Nov. 16 begins at 3 p.m. with the green flag scheduled to drop at approximately 3:45.
