19-year-old pleads innocent to robbery charge

WARREN — Kevin Streeter, 19, of Hazelwood Avenue, pleaded innocent to a felony charge of aggravated robbery Monday for allegedly pushing an 80-year-old woman on her way out of a drug store and stealing her purse.

A patrol officer saw a man later identified as Streeter running from the CVS Pharmacy, 620 East Market St., at about 5 p.m. Sunday while carrying a red purse.

The officer saw the man drop the purse as he ran and caught up with him a little further down East Market Street, ordering him to get face down on the ground before arresting him.

The victim, of Youngstown, was treated at the scene by ambulance personnel for an arm injury she suffered in the attack.

The victim said her assailant was standing by the door lighting a cigarette, then pushed her, which caused her to stumble, and stole her purse.

Judge Terry Ivanchak of Warren Municipal Court set bond at $25,000 and scheduled Streeter’s next hearing for 10:15 a.m. Nov. 18.

If convicted on the charge, Streeter could be sentenced to five years in prison.
