Today: The Hartford native qualified 23rd for today’s Checker O’Reilly Auto Parts 500 at Phoenix International Speedway. It’s the next-to-last race in the Chase for the Championship.

Last week: The Trumbull County native finished 29th in the Dickies 500 race. He earned $112,000.

Season to date: Blaney is 31st in the points standings, four points behind Reed Sorensen for 30th.
