LINCOLN, Neb. — Joe Ganz passed for 324 yards and three touchdowns, Roy Helu Jr. ran for 115 yards and two scores, and Nebraska bounced back from a humiliating defeat at Oklahoma with a 45-35 win over Kansas.

The Huskers (6-4, 3-3 Big 12), coming off a 62-28 loss to the Sooners, became bowl eligible with their 20th straight win over the Jayhawks in Lincoln. Kansas (6-4, 3-3), which throttled the Huskers 76-39 in Lawrence last year, hasn’t won on the road against Nebraska since 1968.

The game was a coaching matchup between Youngstown-area natives Bo Pelini (Cardinal Mooney High) and Mark Mangino (New Castle High and Youngstown State).

Ndamukong Suh, the Huskers’ 300-pound nose tackle, added to a career-best 12-tackle game by lining up at fullback and catching a 2-yard touchdown pass from Ganz for a 10-point lead in the fourth quarter.

Kansas’s Todd Reesing threw three touchdown passes and became Kansas’ career passing leader, but he was sacked five times. He finished 15-of-30 for 304 yards.

Ganz, who completed 28-of-37 passes, went over 300 yards passing for the fourth time in five games and eighth time in 12 career starts.

COLLEGE STATION, Texas — Sam Bradford threw touchdown passes to four different receivers, Chris Brown ran for three scores and Oklahoma started fast again and routed Texas A&M.

DeMarco Murray, Matt Clapp, Ryan Broyles and Juaquin Iglesias had TD catches and Bradford had a touchdown run for the Sooners (9-1, 5-1 Big 12), who set a single-game scoring record for an opponent at Kyle Field.

The Sooners, coached by Bob Stoops from Cardinal Mooney High, have scored 231 points in four games since a 45-35 loss to Texas. Their defense was equally impressive in this one, holding the Aggies (4-6, 2-4) to 26 rushing yards and forcing four turnovers.

PULLMAN, Wash. — Nic Grigsby ran for a career-high 189 yards and Arizona beat Washington State to become eligible for its first bowl game in a decade.

Arizona is coached by Mike Stoops from Cardinal Mooney High.

Xavier Smith scored two touchdowns for Arizona (6-3, 4-2 Pac-10), which piled up 531 yards — including 317 on the ground — against the nation’s worst defense.

Washington State (1-9, 0-7) actually played one of its better games in what has been a horrific year. But the Cougars still became the first Pac-10 team to give up 500 points in a season, with three games left to play. They have lost six straight and have given up at least 52 points in five of them.
