Volunteering

The Lawrence County Animal Relief Fund, which is raising money for homeless and abused animals, will have its first volunteers meeting, said county Treasurer Richard Rapone.

When: 6 p.m. Monday

Where: The Lawrence County Government Center on East Washington Street in New Castle, Pa. The main door of the center will be open. Go to the caucus room downstairs.

What will happen: Volunteers will fill out a form and indicate what they would be interested in doing. Volunteer duties include fundraising and education. Education-volunteer duties include teaching children about animals in the elementary schools and setting up and manning booths for trade shows, Rapone said.
