Service for veterans

YOUNGSTOWN — Sts. Peter and Paul Croatian Catholic Church, 421 Covington St., will host a veterans interfaith prayer service for churches in the Westlake area at 9 a.m. Sunday.

Veterans are asked to gather at 8:30 then march to Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church, 526 W. Rayen Ave., where a service will be at the outdoor shrine. Color guards are invited to participate. Call (330) 747-6762.

Film to be shown

NORTH LIMA — “Apostle of Comedy” will be presented at 6 p.m. Nov. 16 at North Lima Mennonite Church, 90 Mennonite Drive. The film features comedians Jeff Allen, Brad Stine, Anthony Griffin and Ron Pearson and their testimonies of faith.

Diocesan guild

YOUNGSTOWN — The Diocesan Infant Jesus of Prague Guild will meet Nov. 19 at St. Dominic Church, 77 E. Lucius Ave. The rosary will be at 11:30 a.m. and Mass at noon. For more information, call (330) 757-3972.

Flame fellowship

BOARDMAN — Greater Youngstown Chapter of Flame Fellowship, an interdenominational ministry, will meet Nov. 17 at the Georgeanna Parker Activity Center in Boardman Township Park. Fellowship will be at 6:30 and the program is at 7.

Guest speaker will be Pastor Mike Guarnieri.

NEW CASTLE, Pa. — Pastor Joseph Nsubuga, chairman of Calvary Ministries International’s Uganda division of East Africa, will speak at 6 p.m. Sunday at Calvary Temple, which is having services at Upworth United Methodist Church, 805 E. Washington St.

Drum circle canceled

VILLA MARIA, Pa. — The healing drum circle at Villa Maria Education and Spirituality Center originally scheduled for next week will not meet this month.

At Living Word Church

HERMITAGE, Pa. — Dr. Dale Fife will speak at the 10:30 am. service Sunday at Living Word Church, 1109 E. State St. He was the worship leader at outdoor Jesus Festivals in the 1970s and was a co-founder of a large, multiracial, inner-city church in Pittsburgh.

A revival, “Gathering of the Saints,” is planned for 6:30 p.m.

Church advisory

COLUMBIANA — Columbiana Power will have a planned shutdown Sunday which will affect Jerusalem Lutheran Church, 415 S. Main St. Services will be 8:30 and 10:45 a.m. with Sunday school at 9:30. The power outage will effect the heat, so those attending should dress appropriately.

Guest speaker

EAST PALESTINE — The Rev. John Sharick will be guest speaker at the 10:30 a.m. service Sunday at First United Presbyterian Church,109 W. Rebecca St. in East Palestine.

He was pastor of churches in the Cincinnati area before becoming an education consultant for the Synod of Ohio. He also served 28 years as the executive of the regional Eastminster Presbytery.

YOUNGSTOWN — “The Slabtown District Convention Play,” a comedy in one act, will presented at 4 p.m. Sunday at Price Memorial African Methodist Episcopal Church, 920 Dryden Ave. Donation is $8.
