Stoneridge reports loss of $400K in 3rd quarter
HOWLAND — Stoneridge said Friday that it lost $400,000 in the third quarter, compared with earnings of $2.6 million in the same quarter last year. The company said earnings fell primarily because of $4.8 million in expenses related to its previously announced restructuring initiatives.
Sales last quarter were $178.4 million, compared with $172.8 million in the third quarter of 2007. Sales increased because of new electronics program in North America, improvement in its European electronics business and the impact of foreign currency translation.
Stoneridge is a Howland-based provider of electrical and electronic components for vehicles around the world but does almost all of its production outside the Mahoning Valley.
