EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — Devin Harris scored a career-high 38 points to lead New Jersey, spoiling Allen Iverson’s debut with the Pistons. New Jersey, which trailed by as many as 14 points in the first half, played some of its best basketball of the season in the final two periods to hand the Pistons their first loss after four wins to open the season. Vince Carter and Josh Boone each scored 18 for New Jersey, which got its first home win after two losses. Boone also pulled down 14 rebounds.

Heat 99, Spurs 83

SAN ANTONIO — Tony Parker sprained his left ankle and could be out two weeks, and Miami took advantage of his absence to beat San Antonio. Dwyane Wade had 33 points and 10 rebounds with the NBA’s leading scorer out of the game.

Hawks 110, Raptors 92

ATLANTA — Mike Bibby scored all of his 19 points in the first half, making four 3-pointers during an 18-4 run that broke open the game, and unbeaten Atlanta routed Toronto. Bibby added 12 assists for Atlanta (4-0).

Bulls 100, Suns 83

CHICAGO — Reserve Ben Gordon scored 23 points, rookie Derrick Rose had 18 points, six assists and several dazzling plays, and Chicago beat Phoenix. The Suns played without Shaquille O’Neal, who got the night off as part of a plan to rest him periodically throughout the season. O’Neal is expected back in the lineup tonight at Milwaukee. Amare Stoudemire, coming off a 49-point performance against Indiana on Wednesday, finished with 26 points and seven rebounds for the Suns.

Celtics 101, Bucks 89

BOSTON — Paul Pierce had 18 points and 10 rebounds to help Boston overcome its second straight slow start and beat undermanned Milwaukee. Richard Jefferson scored 20 points and Charlie Villanueva added 13 points and 12 rebounds for Milwaukee, playing without the injured Michael Redd. Kevin Garnett had 16 points for Boston.

Bobcats 92, Hornets 89

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Jason Richardson and Raymond Felton scored 20 points apiece, rookie D.J. Augustin spearheaded a late comeback, and Charlotte spoiled Chris Paul’s homecoming by beating New Orleans. New coach Larry Brown tinkered with his lineup late, going with the rookie point guard Augustin, who helped Charlotte regroup after blowing a 14-point lead to give Brown his second win with the struggling franchise.

Knicks 114, Wizards 108

WASHINGTON — Jamal Crawford led a never-take-a-breath attack with 23 points, and New York spread the wealth with five players in double figures and 51 percent shooting in a victory over winless Washington.
