Church outreach group organizes choir for Thanksgiving service
NEW WATERFORD — A choir representing churches and residents in the Crestview School District is being organized to minister in music at a community Thanksgiving service scheduled at 7 p.m. Nov. 23 at Crestview High School.
The choir, to be directed by Pastor Mark Plegge of Abundant Life Fellowship, will sing three songs during the service.
Members and friends of Abundant Life, East Fairfield United Methodist, Middleton Friends Meeting, New Waterford Presbyterian, New Waterford United Methodist Church and Zion Lutheran Church and community residents may participate.
The six churches are part of an outreach group known as the 4C’s, which is Crestview Churches Community Concerns, which will have a part in the service.
In the past, the six churches have rotated hosting the community Thanksgiving service. The Rev. Michael Namy, pastor of East Fairfield, initiated discussions among the various church leaders to make it a true community service by having the event at a more central location.
Jeff Schoch, senior pastor at Abundant Life, will be the speaker. A community worship team also is being assembled. Refreshments will be served after the service.
Anybody interested in joining the community choir should contact Mark Plegge at Abundant Life at (330) 457-7317. Several practices will be scheduled.
