Firefighters promoted, come on board today

YOUNGSTOWN — Two new firefighters, Christopher Stephens and Jeffrey Goodlet, were to be sworn in today by Mayor Jay Williams. Also, Marilyn Nadal and Gene Cook are being promoted to lieutenant and Wilbur Mullins to captain. The positions being filled replace those who retired over the last month with an early retirement incentive. The mayor was to commission into service a new ladder truck purchased with a $400,000 grant. The city had a match of $108,000.
