Boardman veterinarian gets 167 write-in votes for president

Donald Allen, a Boardman veterinarian, received 167 votes statewide in his write-in bid for the presidency, according to unofficial results compiled by the Ohio secretary of state’s office. The office didn’t have a breakdown of where Allen received his write-in votes. Of the six write-in candidates, Allen had the most votes. But the 167 votes was well short of the 2,749,587 votes Democrat Barack Obama received in the election in Ohio.
