Relay for Life honor
WARREN — Trumbull is the only Ohio county to receive national honors this year from the National American Cancer Society for its Relay for Life events.
Trumbull County was fourth in per capita for income raised in the population bracket of 150,000 to 249,999. Per capita is determined by the total relay income in the county, divided by the number of residents in the county. Trumbull’s per capita was $3.76, according to local ACS officials.
Also, Trumbull County was first in its population bracket in the Power of Hope Award for the number of cancer survivors who participated. In 2008, Trumbull relays had 1,636 survivors who took part in five relays.
Earlier this year, Trumbull was recognized as the best county in its population bracket in Ohio for income raised. Also, the Warren relay was the top relay in the state.
