YOUNGSTOWN — The city has signed a one-year gas aggregation deal with IGS Energy to provide a fixed rate of $8.99 per 1,000 cubic feet for city residents who are Dominion East Ohio Gas customers.
The program is voluntary. A notice from IGS will be mailed to city residents in a few days that explains the rate, terms and conditions as well as information on how to sign up for the program, said city Law Director Iris Torres Guglucello.
Also those in Youngstown who want to enroll who are served by another provider can join, said Doug Austin, IGS’s vice president.
Anyone in Youngstown who wants to sign up for the gas program can do so by calling IGS at (800) 280-4474.
GIRARD —There will be a bake sale and Chinese auction on Sunday at St. Rose Church for the benefit of Joe Kaluza, a Youngstown KFC manager who was hospitalized after being shot last March. The event will be from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. with coffee and baked goods. Enter through the parking lot side doors to the lower church. For more information call Jan at (330) 545-3383.
CAMPBELL — Shiloh Baptist Church and Neighborhood Ministries, with the assistance of a grant from the Mahoning County Green Team, will be conducting a neighborhood clean-up event around the Kirwan Homes and surrounding areas on Saturday starting at 10:30 a.m. Clean-up teams will meet at the Neighborhood Ministries office at 75 Jackson Street in Campbell.
The teams will sort the trash and deliver the recyclable items to the recycling center near Campbell City Hall, said Gerald Hamilton, Neighborhood Ministries director. Lunch will be served from 1 to 2 p.m.
