Nutcracker event fits the holidays to a tea

AUSTINTOWN — The Austintown Historical Society invites the public to an annual tradition, its Nutcracker Holiday Tea, which is Nov. 16 at The Strock Stone House, a National Historic Landmark, at 7171 Mahoning Ave. Seatings are at noon, 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.
Reservations are a must and need to be made by Saturday. The cost is $14 per person and $7 for children under 12.
The menu includes coffees and a variety of teas, finger sandwiches, scones, pastries and extras that are served during a traditional high tea.
Bone china cups, saucers and dessert plates will complement the lace tablecloths in traditional holiday colors. Decorations include many nutcrackers that represent those from around the world.
Free tours of the Strock Stone House will be conducted after each seating.
There will be a basket raffle at a cost of one ticket for $1, five tickets for $3 and 15 tickets for $5. The winner need not be present. For more information, call Joyce Pogany at (330) 792-1129.
