Youngstown school levy ahead in absentees

YOUNGSTOWN — Supporters of Youngstown's 9.5-mill levy were buoyed by early returns reported by the Mahoning County Board of Elections.

Levy headquarters on South Schenley Avenue erupted in applause when initial reports on absentee ballot,s around 8:20 p.m., showed a 1,400-vote lead for the levy, which was turned down by voters three times n the past.
