Election Day food sales are sponsored by various nonprofit organizations. Here’s a sampling of what’s being offered today.
Assumption Social Center of St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church: At 356 S. Belle Vista Ave., Youngstown, stuffed cabbage will be sold for $12 a dozen on a first-come, first-served basis. There also will be baked goods. Lunch choices are a hot dog, meatball splash and bowl of stuffed cabbage from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Dorcas Society: Members of the Dorcas Society of Holy Trinity Church, 3325 Morefield Road, Hermitage, Pa., will have a bake sale from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. including apple and pumpkin squares, doughnuts, cakes, pies and cookies. There also will be stuffed cabbage and cabbage and noodles. Proceeds benefit the society’s church and community projects.
Liberty Assembly of God Church: At 6779 Belmont Ave., Liberty, roast beef dinner will be available from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. to eat in or carry out. Cost is $8 for adults and $5 for those 10 and younger.
Lord of Life Lutheran Church: The Canfield church sponsors its annual spaghetti dinner from 4:30 to 8 p.m. at Canfield High School, Cardinal Drive, Canfield. The menu is spaghetti, salad, rolls, dessert and beverage. The cost is $7 for adults, $4 for children from 5 to 13 years old and free for those 4 and younger. The Canfield Community Band will play.
Saxon Club, Ladies Branch 22: The organization has a luncheon and bake sale from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Saxon Club ballroom, 710 S. Meridian Road, Youngstown. German sausage sandwiches with sauerkraut, hot dogs and chicken dumpling soup are available for eat-in or takeout.
Summit Academy Secondary Prom Committee: The committee will sponsor a “Pasta for Prom” dinner from noon to 6 p.m. at Summit Academy gym, 1400 Oak Hill Ave., Youngstown. Menu includes pasta, meatballs, salad, bread, beverage and dessert. Cost is $5 for adults, $4 for students and $3 for children younger than 10. The school is located next to a polling place, St. Patrick Church.
