English camp is ‘optimistic’ in 3rd Pa. District
Forty-five minutes after the polls closed at 8 p.m. in Pennsylvania, the Phil English camp in the 3rd Congressional District reported “guarded” optimism in the race with Kathy Dahlkemper.
Dahlkemper, in her first-time run for a political office, beat three contenders in the Democratic primary to face the Republican incumbent, who has held the House seat for 14 years.
The race has been close.
“We’re feeling pretty good,” said Brad McGill at the People for English campaign headquarters. “We had a great day,” said McGill, who added that the reception was warm wherever English supporters went.
