Dave Blaney
Friday: The Hartford native didn’t have a strong qualifying run at Texas Motor Speedway, completing two laps in an average speed of 184.300 mph. That was good for only the 41st time. Blaney will start on the inside of the 21st row for today’s Dickies 500.
Today: Television coverage is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. on ABC (WYTV Channel 33) with the green flag scheduled drop between 3:30-4 p.m. Blaney will be driving in the No. 22 Toyota with Caterpillar as the main sponsor.
Next: NASCAR’s top series heads to the American Southwest for the Checker O’Reilly Auto Parts 500 at Phoenix International Speedway Nov. 9. It’s the next-to-last race in the Chase for the Championship.
