Richardses feted at surprise event on anniversary
NORTH LIMA — The 68th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Paul A. Richards of North Lima was celebrated during an outdoor surprise party on Sept. 20 at the home of their grandson and his wife, Christopher and Jennifer Mrozek, in Austintown.
Hosts were the couple’s children, LaUna and Frank Mrozek of Poland, Gary P. Richards of Warren, and Dr. Duane and Susan Richards of Indianapolis. Their grandchildren, Jodi and Donald Conley of Nashport and Michelle Starrs of New York, N.Y., and great-grandchildren, Drew Conley, Elizabeth Ostheimer and Jacob Westmoreland, complete the family.
The former Bertha A. Whan and Mr. Richards were married Sept. 21, 1940, in New Cumberland, W.Va.
Prior to her marriage, Mrs. Richards worked in the payroll department at Youngstown Sheet and Tube Co. Mr. Richards was stationed with the U.S. Army in Germany during World War II and retired from Youngstown Sheet and Tube after 42 years of service.
The couple are members of Mount Olivet United Church of Christ and enjoy their extended family, bowling, golfing, gardening, playing cards and traveling.
