Garden shop has holiday gifts in store

YOUNGSTOWN — The Shop in the Gardens at Mill Creek MetroParks, 123 McKinley Ave., announces its annual Holiday Open House Weekend, which will take place from Thursday through Nov. 9.

The weekend kicks off with the Friends of Fellows Riverside Gardens Members Night on Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m.

Members will receive a 20-percent discount that night only. Memberships will be available at the door.

The open house continues through that weekend from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.

The shop is known for its one-of-a-kind gift items and wide selection of fashion-forward accessories, including jewelry and handbags.

Garden and nature-oriented items include Mill Creek MetroParks 2009 calendar and holiday cards by photographer Scott Lanz.

Eclectic tabletop decor can add charm to holiday entertaining. The “Wine Spot” features Murano glass stoppers, aprons and other accessories for the wine enthusiast.

Shoppers can decorate with ornaments from the Penguin Tree, Candy Cane Tree and Woodland Tree.
