YMCA Davis Branch plans YArts Week

BOARDMAN — The Davis Branch of the Youngstown YMCA, 45 McClurg Road, is having YArts Week, a national YMCA event, Monday through Nov. 9, which includes classes, performances and exhibitions, and Family Fall Fest from 1 to 3 p.m. next Saturday.

Most everything on the schedule is free, and everything is open to both members and nonmembers. Parents must remain in the building while their children participate in the activities.

Here is the schedule of events, which includes an art exhibit every day:

UMonday: Art exhibit only.

UTuesday: Paper collage class, age 5 and older, 6 to 7 p.m.

UWednesday: Color and design class, teens and adults, 5 to 7 p.m.

UThursday: Story time with local author Monica Stryffeler; call for times; open house/adult painting class, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

UFriday: Art exhibit only.

UNov. 8: Wilson & Rayen Acoustic Band, 1 to 2 p.m.; children’s music class with Linda Rein, 1 to 3 p.m.; beading classes, age 3 to 6, 1 to 2 p.m.; paint on pottery class with Blazed and Bedazzled, 1 to 3 p.m., small fee; Pat Catann craft table, 1 to 3 p.m.; photos taken for The Face of Davis montage, 1 to 3 p.m.; group painting project, 1 to 3 p.m.; color mixing class, ages 8 and older, 2 to 3 p.m.
