Northeast Christian Church to mark 25th year with variety of programs

BAZETTA — Northeast Christian Church, 865 Perkins Jones Road N.E., will mark its 25th anniversary next weekend.

Programs are scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday and Nov. 8 and at 6 p.m. Nov. 9.

Braceville Christian Church planted Northeast Church with the help the Northeast Ohio Association of Helpers in 1983. Several families from Braceville Christian and others began by meeting at the Ali Baba Grotto building on Perkins Jones Road.

In 1986, land was purchased on the same road and a building project began May 15, 1988.

The first service took place in the new building on Jan. 1, 1989. Michael Derico was the first pastor; he will speak during the weekend services. Other speakers will be past and present members of the church family. Special music will be presented. Refreshments will follow the services and a fellowship meal will take place after the Sunday morning service at 10 a.m.

Sunday school will begin at 9 a.m. and will feature a panel discussion by former members of the church who have gone out to serve in other locations. Child care is available.
