New pastor installed at Petersburg Presbyterian


PETERSBURG — The Rev. Juliann Joy is the new pastor of Petersburg Presbyterian Church, Route 170.

She was installed Sept. 21 and a dinner/reception was after the service.

The Rev. Mrs. Joy graduated cum laude from Hope College in Holland, Mich., with a bachelor of arts in religion. She attended Princeton Theological Seminary in Princeton, N.J., and received a master of divinity degree.

Mrs. Joy has more than eight years’ experience serving three churches as a minister of word and sacrament — as an associate pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Galesburg, Ill.: parish associate of Peoples Presbyterian Church of Milan, Mich.; and minister of education and outreach of the First Congregational Church of Wayne, Mich.

She is a member of East Minster Presbytery.

Her husband, the Rev. Dr. Robert Joy, is the pastor of Grace Church in Columbiana. They have three children.
