ASSOCIATIONS

• American Association of University Women, Youngstown Branch, will meet at 10 a.m. Nov. 8 at St. Columba Cathedral, Wood at Elm streets, Youngstown. There will be a continental breakfast followed by a business session. The Rev. • Poland Center Homemakers will meet from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday at Poland United Methodist Church for a casserole lunch hosted by Ellie Rigelsky and Sophie Yash. Nativity kits will be provided for the craft.

• Youngstown Women’s Connection will meet for a “Be Our Guest” luncheon at noon Nov. 11 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish Center, 4500 Norquest Blvd., Austintown. The program will include “Songs of Sinatra” by Angelo Barbo, and a talk on “Victory through Adversity” by Bill Rotar. Guests, including men, are welcome. The cost is $10. POLITICAL CLUBS

• Canfield Republican Club will meet at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at A La Cart Catering in Canfield. A social and lunch will begin at noon. Guest speaker will be retired Senior Master Sgt. Christopher Stanley, executive director of the Fisher Nightingale House, located at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. Milton Kochert, a retired captain in the U.S. Naval Reserve, will provide a tribute to Veterans Day. Decorations will be by Lucile Bartelmay and Pauline Hruby. Guests are welcome. A luncheon will follow at 11:30 a.m. Then members will attend the “First Friday Club” of Greater Youngstown speaker series. The speaker will be sister Helen Prejean, CSJ, and the topic will be “Capital Punishment.” She advocates for abolishing the death penalty and is a best-selling author of the book “Dead Man Walking.” Seton III members will be providing Thanksgiving dinners for several area families.
