Ebony Ladies \Golf league facts

The history of Ebony Ladies Golf League and some of its activities:

1997: Established in Youngstown.

1998: Chapter formed in Columbus.

1998: Membership reached 100.

1998: Joined the Midwest Golf Association.

2000: Had the first Ebony Ladies Golf Classic.

2003: Chapter formed in Texas.

2003: Brunilda Turner, league founder, inducted into Ebony Lifeline Hall of Fame.

2004: Participated in “Rally for a Cure” tournament.

2004: Ebony Ladies Golf and Youth Foundation established.

2005: Featured in African American Golfer’s Digest.

2007: Volunteered in LPGA-USGA Girls Golf program.

2008: Ebony Ladies Golf and Youth Foundation awarded one-year matching grant from USGA.
