Developer hopes to build skyscraper in Cleveland
CLEVELAND — A developer whose earlier plans for a high-rise office tower at a downtown Cleveland location fizzled now hopes to build a 21-story skyscraper at the site.
The $180 million proposal by the Richard E. Jacobs Group and a partner, the Houston-based Hines company, is planned at Public Square and will feature a glass facade. The building will cater to high-end tenants and could be open in three years.
An earlier Jacobs plan for a skyscraper at the same location was a bust in the early 1990s amid a business downturn.
