Express rallies to spill Roth, 7-5
STRUTHERS — After watching Roth Brothers score five times in the bottom of the sixth inning to take a 5-2 lead, the Youngstown Express plated five runs in the top of the seventh inning to win 7-5 in a Class B game on Wednesday at Cene Park.
Sam Porter had three hits, including a bases-loaded double that drove home three runs to tie the game in the seventh inning. Porter finished with five RBIs, Rob Warchol added three hits, Dean Porter singled and doubled and Anthony Luchansky two hits for the Express (2-1).
Dustin Uhlman, Sammy Jenkins, and Stefan Stelk had two hits each for Roth (1-2).
Simon Roofing 10, Rondinelli Tuxedo 7
Simon Roofing scored three times in three separate innings and went on to hand Rondinelli Tuxedo it first loss.
Brett Cooper had three hits and scored three times, while Matt Durkin drove home three runs on two hits, and L.J. Schrumsky scored three runs with two hits for Simon Roofing (2-1). Brad Bates picked up the win in relief as he went 3 2/3 innings with seven strikeouts.
Jason Ferguson singled and doubled and drove in two for Rondinelli (2-1).
Dave Sugar Excavating 8, Livi Steel 2
Nick Dinello had two hits to lead the Sugar (3-0) attack while Nate Wilson went the first six innings for the win, allowing just two runs with five strikeouts.
Bobby Spalding got the loss, allowing four runs in four innings. Livi (1-2) walked 10 batters.
