GIRARD

May 24

Theft: A $200 cell phone was stolen from an employee with the Mahoning Country Club Inc., 710 E. Liberty St.

Arrest: Officers charged a Girard woman, 53, with disorderly conduct after getting several calls about a disturbance, one of which said she had been screaming obscenities and tossing items from an apartment window in the 1000 block of Washington Avenue.

Criminal damaging: A man in the 400 block of Idaho Avenue found a 2-inch hole in vinyl siding on his garage, likely caused by a pellet or BB. Damage was estimated at $500.

Criminal damaging: A man in the 300 block of East Kline Street found that the passenger-side tires to his former wife’s car had been slashed.

Assaults: Two women arguing on East Howard Street each reported being struck in the face by the other.

Theft: An East Broadway Avenue man reported a stereo/compact-disc player was removed from his vehicle.

Assault/unauthorized use of a vehicle: A Tibbetts-Wick Road woman told officers her boyfriend slapped her face during an argument at his Church Hill Road home and left in her 1993 Pontiac Sunbird without permission.

Breaking and entering: A North Avenue woman noticed her front door had been kicked in, though nothing seemed to be missing. Later, three people who were pulled over in Youngstown were charged with receiving stolen property when, police said, a stolen credit card that belonged to the woman was found.

May 25

Theft: A man in the 700 block of East Kline Street discovered his vehicle’s registration missing.

Drugs: A Youngstown woman, 23, was charged with possession of drug-abuse instruments and disorderly conduct after authorities went to Morris Avenue and said they found a suspected crack cocaine pipe. She also was intoxicated and refused to cooperate, the report showed.

May 26

Burglary: A man called police after someone entered a vacant East Second Street home and removed from the basement $300 worth of copper plumbing.

Burglary: Residents of a South Market Street home arrived and reported two suspicious juveniles, including a 9-year-old boy they said was in their home.

Burglary: Someone broke into a West Second Street residence via a side door. Nothing appeared to be missing, though graffiti was found on the second floor.

Criminal trespassing: Officers issued a summons to a 34-year-old Warren man they said was on a dirt bike near railroad property off U.S. Route 422, and that the man was not supposed to be riding in the area.

Arrest: A 28-year-old Earl Street woman was charged with disorderly conduct after her boyfriend said she refused to exit their vehicle. The woman screamed obscenities at the man and struggled with police, the report said.

May 27

Arson: Police received several 911 calls regarding a possible vehicle fire in the 200 block of East Second Street and found the 1993 Ford Explorer engulfed, as well as partial damage to the residence and a nearby boat. Afterward, officers responded to a report in the 400 block that someone tried to break into and set fire to another car.

Criminal mischief: A man in the 200 block of East Wilson Avenue reported someone used eggs to damage the interior of his grandfather’s vehicle’s upholstery.

Theft/criminal damaging: An East Wilson Avenue woman discovered her son’s car was damaged, and that a stereo and MP3 player were missing.

LIBERTY

May 24

Arrest: After being pulled over in the 4000 block of Belmont Avenue, a 23-year-old Youngstown man was taken into custody on two warrants from Youngstown.

Arrest: A Cortland man, 44, was arrested as part of a traffic stop near Belmont Avenue. He was accused of failing to appear in court on a probation-violation charge.

Criminal damaging: A Youngstown man reported somebody used a key to scratch obscenities in his vehicle’s paint while he was in the 3600 block of Belmont Avenue.

Theft: An employee of a Trumbull Avenue business accused her former fianc of taking a $250 winter coat from her car.

Counterfeit: Authorities arrested a 22-year-old Hubbard man on a felony charge of criminal simulation and a misdemeanor theft count after receiving a report about counterfeit money being passed at a Belmont Avenue gas station. The man used a phony $50 bill to buy cigarettes and had several fake $10 and $20 bills in his car, the report said. Also, a Youngstown woman, 20, was charged with obstructing official business.

May 25

Drugs: Police said they found a bag containing one rock of suspected crack cocaine, resulting in the arrest of a 49-year-old Ashtabula man during a traffic stop on state Route 193.

Theft: A Roosevelt Drive man reported two missing cell phones that belong to his daughter.

May 26

Unauthorized use of a vehicle: Police found a car in the 4200 block of Belmont Avenue that a Cortland woman said had been used without her consent.

Criminal damaging: Someone tossed rocks at two vehicles in the 2100 block of Pleasant Valley Road, damaging their front windshields as well as a passenger-side door and causing an estimated $1,500 worth of damage.

Criminal mischief: A Will-o-Wood Drive man found that an orange traffic cone had been placed by his front door.

May 27

Drugs: A traffic stop In the 4200 block of Belmont Avenue resulted in the arrest of a Youngstown man, 42, wanted on one count of failure to appear in court to face a drug-abuse charge.

HUBBARD

May 22

Arrest: A Hillview Drive man surrendered to police. He was wanted on a felony charge of receiving stolen property.

May 23

Theft: The Girard Municipal Court issued a warrant against a Hubbard man accused of failing to appear in court for arraignment on a theft count.

Theft: Two Hubbard men were taken into custody on theft charges after a worker for Circle K, 211 W. Liberty St., reported detaining two shoplifters.

Burglary: Authorities got a call about a break-in at an East Park Avenue home. Items, including prescription medications, were taken.

May 25

Theft: A woman reported the theft of a patio umbrella from her Timberlake Drive home.

May 26

Theft: Gasoline was stolen on two occasions from a Shell True North station, 204 W. Liberty St.

Criminal mischief: A man in the 400 block of Ravine Drive found garbage and debris strewn over his property.

Breaking and entering: A worker with Hubbard Gas Mini Mart, 175 Youngstown-Hubbard Road, discovered a break-in.
