GM Lordstown has tentative labor pact

LORDSTOWN — A tentative contract agreement has been reached between union leaders and management at General Motors’ Lordstown assembly plant.

United Auto Workers Local 1112 said on its Web site that a deal was struck Wednesday night. The two sides have been negotiating a local labor agreement that is seen as crucial for GM to commit to bringing new models to the plant.

“This agreement will secure the future of the Lordstown Complex for many years to come and help in securing the future for our families and the Mahoning Valley,” the item said.

It added that highlights for members are being compiled, and informational meetings and voting dates are being scheduled.
