As part of its series of international cuisine and spirits events, The Youngstown Club will present an Asian Delights Sake Taste in its main lounge at 5 tonight. The cost is $20 per person and includes specially prepared appetizers. The Youngstown Club is on the fifth floor of the Commerce Building, 201 E. Commerce St., downtown Youngstown. “Hedda Gabler” is the story of a strong and talented woman whose upward mobility is restricted by the culture of the Victorian era. It opens this weekend at The Victorian Players (where else?) “Titanic, the Musical” heads into its second weekend at the Youngstown Playhouse. Curtain times are 8 p.m., and 2:30 p.m. Sunday. Call (330) 788-8739.

jJerry Douglas returns to his hometown for a free 7 p.m. concert at the Warren Community Amphitheatre. Douglas is a master dobro player in Nashville who has performed with dozens of stars, including James Taylor, Ray Charles, Garth Brooks, Yo Yo Ma and Allison Krauss. He’s also the holder of 12 Grammy Awards.

JonesFest, an all-day indoor/outdoor music festival on West Federal Street, downtown Youngstown, begins at 2 p.m. and runs until it’s over. Thirteen bands are scheduled to play, including Jones 4 Revival, Mystic WIP Hustler, The Zou, Captain Braskey and 5 Elements. Admission is free.

Bullseye made a run at a Cleveland-area battle of the bands last weekend, but fell just short of the top prize. You can catch the homegrown country band at 9:30 at Jumpin Jack’s Chicken Shack, 9159 Market St., Boardman. Call (330) 758-5225.

The tribute shows continue at the Warren Community Amphitheatre with Satisfaction (Rolling Stones) and Hooked on Tonics. The free event starts at 5.

The Mahoning Valley Thunder arena football team is in action at Chevrolet Centre. The squad takes on the Albany Conquest at 7:05 p.m. Tickets range from $12 to $50 at the box office. k

Church festival season gets under way with fun at two locations: Immaculate Heart of Mary, Norquest Boulevard, Austintown, June 4-8; and St. Joseph the Provider, 633 Porter Ave., Campbell, June 5-8. Both feature food, live music, amusement rides, games of chance and more.
