May 23

Breaking and entering: Someone broke into Shirt Wizard, 685 Boardman-Canfield Road, and took a laptop computer and miscellaneous change.

Theft: A boy, 13 and a 17-year-old girl, both of Youngstown, were charged in the theft of $86 worth of clothing from Wal-Mart, 1300 Doral Drive.

Theft: Several MP3 players, a drum machine and a 6-channel mixer were among the items stolen from the Guitar Center, 7380 Market St.

Theft: A $400 leaf blower from a front yard on Sigle Lane.

Menacing: A Boardman man told police he was threatened while at a Boardman-Canfield Road restaurant.

Domestic violence: A Boardman woman, 24, was charged after a family member alleged she slapped him and scratched his left cheek during an argument. The victim also was taken into custody when police learned he was wanted on a probation-violation charge.

Theft: A motorist pumped and failed to pay for $56.75 worth of gasoline before leaving a BP station, 310 Boardman-Canfield Road.

Arrest: A traffic stop near Tiffany Boulevard led to the arrest of a Youngstown man, 37, wanted on two felony warrants, one of which charged him with theft.

Theft: A total of 10 DVD box sets totaling $761 were stolen on two occasions from Target, 417 Boardman-Poland Road, and sold to another Boardman store.

Arrest: New Springfield police handed a 20-year-old Poland man to Boardman authorities. He was wanted on a felony criminal-simulation charge, accused of engaging in check fraud in January at a Doral Drive store.

Domestic violence: A 37-year-old Boardman man was arrested after a family member alleged he came home intoxicated and grabbed her by the arm, tossing her onto a bed, and around the throat.

Theft: A woman reported a gym bag, an MP3 player, 10 cassettes and a pair of shoes stolen from her vehicle at the Southern Park Mall, apparently as someone tried to steal her 1986 Oldsmobile.

Theft: A 38-year-old New Castle, Pa., woman was charged, accused of stealing seven shirts valued at a total of $278 from Macy’s in the Southern Park Mall.

Unauthorized use of a vehicle: A 15-year-old Indianola Road boy was charged.

Menacing: Police charged a 13-year-old Youngstown girl after responding to unruly juveniles near Tinseltown USA, 7401 Market St. A worker alleged the girl threatened to burn down the business after being escorted out, the report showed.

May 25

Arrest: A 16-year-old Boardman boy who reported an attempted burglary to a Jeannette Drive residence was charged with obstructing official business and filing a false police report when, officers said, his claim turned out to be unfounded.

Arrest: A 51-year-old Youngstown man was arrested near Midlothian Boulevard and Interstate 680. He was wanted on a felony charge of probation violation.

Drugs: After pulling her over near Midlothian Boulevard, authorities charged a Youngstown woman, 21, with drug abuse (Ecstasy and heroin) and trafficking in marijuana, all felonies.

Menacing: A 20-year-old Brookwood Road man was charged after a neighbor reported having his safety threatened in the hallway of their apartment building.

Domestic violence: A 19-year-old Poland woman was taken into custody in the 5700 block of Glenwood Avenue on charges of domestic violence and obstructing official business after her former boyfriend alleged she attacked him in a vehicle, punching him in the face and biting his finger.

Criminal damaging: A woman in the 500 block of Boardman-Poland Road told police a driver intentionally slammed into her van.

Theft: Officers charged a 49-year-old Youngstown man after 13 articles of clothing were stolen from Wal-Mart. The man also was wanted on a probation-violation charge.

Criminal damaging: A worker for Tinseltown USA found that the lens cover to a security light was broken.

Burglary: Someone entered an apartment in the 4900 block of Brookwood Road through an unlocked front door before removing a personal check and several needles.

Unauthorized use of a vehicle: A woman said her former boyfriend took her 1999 Ford Taurus without permission as she worked at a Boardman-Poland Road restaurant.

May 26

Theft: A 27-year-old employee of Bed, Bath Beyond, 550 Boardman-Poland Road, was charged after a co-worker alleged he stole money from a cash register. He also was seen on camera removing money from another employee’s purse, the report said.

Unauthorized use of a vehicle: An 18-year-old Boardman man was charged after a woman told authorities her former boyfriend borrowed and failed to return her 1999 Ford Taurus.

Assault: A woman suffered a lump on her head and complained of neck pain after saying a co-worker at a South Avenue eatery assaulted her.

Theft: A worker for Denny’s Restaurant, 154 Boardman-Canfield Road, found that a cash drawer was short by an undisclosed amount of money.

Theft: A Campbell woman, 21, faced a theft charge after being accused of taking $395 worth of clothing from Macy’s.
