The city board of education awarded seven contracts Tuesday for the construction of a new Volney Rogers Middle School. The jobs go to:

General trades: Kreidler Construction Co. of Poland: $5,400,350.

Plumbing: Prout Boiler, Heating & Welding Co. of Youngstown: $526,295.

Heating and ventilation: A.A. Samuels Heating & Cooling of Youngstown: $1,105,800.

Temperature controls: Johnson Controls Inc. of Youngstown: $215,000.

Fire protection: S.A. Comunale Co. Inc. of Warren: $168,945.

Electrical: Penn-Ohio Electric of Masury: $1,274,923.

Kitchen equipment: Rizzi Distributors Inc. of Warren: $255,900.
