Wanted man caught by cops after foot chase

YOUNGSTOWN — A man wanted on nine warrants who was caught after a foot chase by police and arrested on new charges of aggravated robbery and obstruction of justice was arraigned today in municipal court.

Jesus Febres, 33, of Midland Avenue is accused of robbing a man of gold chains and a cell phone inside a house on Willis Avenue. Magistrate Tony Sertick Jr. set bond at $205,000 and preliminary and pretrial hearings for June 2. The arraignment included charges for his failure to appear in court last November in a driving under suspension and drug paraphernalia case.

The other warrants, issued out of Mahoning County area courts, are for theft, aggravated menacing, resisting arrest, theft, drug abuse, possession of heroin and drug abuse instruments.

Febres was caught around 2 a.m. Sunday in the 1700 block of Oak Hill Avenue, where he ran and hid behind a car, police said.
