Wharmby Sports and Rondinelli Tuxedo won Class B openers.

STRUTHERS — Nick Baiamonte scattered six hits and struck out six batters as R J Trucking opened the Class B season with a 6-1 win over Livi Steel.

Jon Madeline and Jon Tartarko had two hits each for R J.

Garrett Herold doubled and Zach Cuffman had nine strikeouts for Livi Steel.

Wharmby Sports 10, Roth Brothers 0

Wharmby Sports pounded out 16 hits in five innings. Ben Bechtol had four hits while Jeff Bruno and winning pitcher Nick DiCello added three apiece.

DiCello allowed just four hits with a pair of strikeouts for the win and also drove home three runs. Dan Sacui had a single and a double for Roth Brothers.

Rondinelli Tuxedo 7, Youngstown Express 1

Rondinelli broke open a close game with a four-run sixth inning. Both teams had nine hits in the game.

Dan Eich had three hits for the Express while Kevin McCollugh had two hits for the winners.

Corey McGinnis tossed a complete game for the win. He had nine strikeouts.

Dave Sugar Excavating 14, Action Physical Therapy 4

After falling behind 4-0, Sugar scored 14 unanswered runs.

Joey Borrelii and Pat O’Brien had three hits each while Nick Dinello, Justin Shaffer, Jake Kucek and Nick Crum had two apiece.

Mike Olenych went the first five innings for the win on the mound. He had eight strikeouts.

Tim Schiraldi had a pair of hits, one a double, and drove home two runs for Action.

Simon Roofing 8, Astro Falcons 4

The game had more errors (seven) than hits (six).

Ryan Gruszecki tossed a complete game for the win, allowing only two earned runs on three hits. He had eight strikeouts, including the last three batters in the game. Evan Bollinger had a two-run double.

Dan Mioni had two singles and T.J. Rosenberg a double for the Falcons.

Roth Brothers 5, Action Physical Therapy 0

Pat Mulligan tossed a two-hit shutout with 10 strikeouts and added a single and triple for Roth (1-1). Bob Zanni doubled.

Mike Backas suffered the loss, going 42‚Ñ3 innings allowing three earned runs.

Youngstown Express 3, Simon Roofing 2

Dean Porter’s two-out single scored Sam Porter with the winning run in the bottom of the 11th inning.

Rob Warchol tossed four scoreless innings for the win allowing two hits in relief of Dan Eich, who had six strikeouts over the first seven innings for the Express (1-1).

Joe Strawinski, Dean Porter and Erik Walters had two hits each.

For Simon Roofing (1-1), Evan Bollinger had two hits, while Jake Swank allowed two runs (one earned) with six strikeouts in the first 52‚Ñ3 innings on the mound.

Roberto Morales suffered the loss as he had five strikeouts in five innings of work, allowing only one run.

Nick Dinello singled home the winning run in the top of the seventh. Dinello also had a run scoring double while Ryan Nisbett had two doubles for the winners. Winning pitcher Patrick O’Brien tossed a five hitter with six strikeouts.

Mike Popio had a pair of singles while Tom Cheslik had a triple and single for R J Trucking (1-1).
