Sentences handed out in Mercer court

MERCER, Pa.— The following people were sentenced in Mercer County Common Pleas Court on Friday:

UTheodore Yeagley, 43, formerly of Coal Hill Road, Greenville, 39 months to seven years in prison for 10 counts of theft by deception and one count of theft by unlawful taking, all felonies. He was also ordered to make $119,365 restitution.

Court documents state that between November 2006 and May 2007, Yeagley accepted down payments from 10 individuals and timber companies to remove timber from his land. He did not return the money, even though the rights had already been sold to other timber companies.

Yeagley also agreed to sell another victim 13 acres of land in November 2006 and kept a down payment, later telling the victim falsely that a finance company would not permit the sale. He also removed lumber from a Cossitt Road property in December 2006 or January, 2007 without the owner’s permission.

UPatricia Haddox, 51, of Seventh Street, Sharpsville, one year’s probation for felony retail theft. Court documents state she stole $255 worth of clothing from Macy’s, 3515 E. State St., Hermitage, on May 22, 2007. The offense is a felony because it was her third or subsequent offense.

URaymond Kerr, 62, of Kinsman Road, Greenville, six to 18 months in the Mercer County Jail for possession with intent to manufacture or deliver, a felony. Court documents state Kerr was apprehended at his home on July 10, 2007, with 41 marijuana plants, grow lights, fertilizer, potting material and buckets.

UTravis Pratt, 20, of Elm Street, Grove City, 115 days to 18 months in the Mercer County Jail followed by six months probation and ordered to make restitution for misdemeanor forgery. Court documents state that on Oct. 31, 2007, Pratt forged a check for $80 on the account of an 80-year-old Grove City woman without her permission.
