LIBERTY — Golfers from northeastern Ohio and western Pennsylvania are expected to participate in the 11th annual Neil Kennedy Recovery Clinic Golf Classic that will take place June 9 at Youngstown Country Club, 1402 Country Club Drive.

The registration fee is $175 each, and tickets for a mega raffle at the awards reception are $25 each, or five for $100. To register or to purchase a raffle ticket, call Doug Wentz, (330) 743-6671, Ext. 103, or visit www.nkrc.org.

Proceeds from the outing will benefit various adult and youth programs sponsored by NKRC, as well as the Dick Riley Fellowship Hall, a safe haven where people in recovery from addiction can meet.

After the round of golf, the Rev. Timothy O’Neill of St. Patrick Church and an NKRC board member, will serve as master of ceremonies at an awards ceremony. Prizes will be presented to men and women who are winners of skill events, and a wide variety of raffle prizes will also be awarded. Among them will be vacation and hotel packages, tickets to Pittsburgh Penguins and Cleveland Browns games, sports equipment and memorabilia.

A subsidiary to Gateway Rehabilitation Center, NKRC was founded in 1946 in Youngstown and is the country’s first freestanding drug and alcohol treatment facility.

Recently, outpatient programs were opened in Austintown, Howland and Dublin to make treatment more convenient and accessible for those in need.
