Moody, Harris and Ames lead Lakeview to Division II title


ANDOVER — Lakeview High junior Ben Moody won the 110-meter hurdles, while teammate Heath Harris won the 1600 and Tyler Ames took home the 3200 title, to lead the Bulldogs to the district title at Saturday’s Division II meet at Pymatuning Valley High School.

Lakeview easily outdistanced Ashtabula Edgewood, 121-97, while Hubbard was third with 78.

The Eagles’ 4x200 relay of Andrew Zitnik, Andre Givens, David Urey and Robert Wigfall set a meet record with a time of 1 minute, 31.06 seconds. Hubbard also won the 4x100 relay and Jermaine Collins added an individual win in the 300 hurdles.

Other champions were Champion’s Tyler Day (800) and LaBrae’s Nathan Fenstermaker (shot put).

On the girls side, Lakeview’s Kiley Mathews won the 400 to help the Bulldogs edge Edgewood 931‚Ñ2 to 86. Hubbard was third with 84.

The Eagle girls also set a meet record in the 4x200, with Breonna Carter, Michele Starkey, Katie Zitnik and Katoria Carter running 1:44.64. Breonna also won the 100 and anchored the winning 4x100 relay. Starkey won the 800 and helped the Eagles win the 4x400 relay.

LaBrae’s Allorian Horne won the 200.
