YOUNGSTOWN — Steel City Corp. has received its 12th consecutive President’s Award from the PAGE Cooperative in King of Prussia, Pa. Also, Steel City’s supplier status was upgraded to platinum. The President’s Award recognizes the supplier serving the most members of the 561-member supply-purchasing cooperative. Steel City provides home delivery and single-copy supplies to newspapers.

BOARDMAN — Sharp Imaging and Information Company of America recognized Valley Office Solutions of Boardman as a Hyakuman Kai Dealer. Sharp awards Hyakuman Kai status to dealers that provide exceptional service to the local business community. Award-winning dealers were honored at Sharp’s National Dealer Meeting this month in Orlando, Fla.

YOUNGSTOWN — Corydon Palmer Dental Society, which represents members in Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties, recently recognized these 50-year members:

Dr. John Beal is a Poland native who earned his DDS degree from Ohio State University and was the first dentist in the area to computerize his practice.

Dr. Dante DeAngelo is a graduate of Ohio State University who started at 2516 Market St. and later moved to McKay Court in Boardman, where his son, Dr. Dan DeAngelo, now owns the practice.

Dr. Daniel DeGenova set up a practice in Boardman where he still works part time with his son, Mark.

Dr. Al Leone received his dental training at Ohio State. He went into practice on Youngstown’s East Side, then moved to Boardman, where his son, Michael, joined him in practice.

Dr. Richard Lucarell practiced in downtown Youngstown’s Central Tower, then in Struthers, and finally in Boardman, until his retirement in 1999.

Dr. Walter Spikell went into practice at 101 Federal Plaza West and in 1983 moved to the corner of Market Street and Judson. He sold his practice upon his retirement in 2002.

Dr. Terrence Martzial Jr. has always practiced in New Middletown. He continues to practice part time in the office, which is now owned by his son, Dr. Terrence Martzial III.

Dr. Don Carr began practice in Milford Center in Columbiana County in 1958 and moved to Florida upon his retirement several years ago.

YOUNGSTOWN — Patricia Piteo, a partner in the Youngstown office of Cohen & Co., was named the Financial Services Champion of the Year for the Cleveland district of the U.S. Small Business Administration. For more than 30 years, she has worked with companies and their owners to create successful small businesses. Her work includes strategic planning and supervision, planning and review of audits.

HOWLAND — Beverly Friend, an agent with Coldwell Banker First Place Real Estate, received the Walter Graham Civic Award from the Warren Area Board of Realtors. This award is presented annually to a local real estate agent who has volunteered to make a difference in the community. Friend has given 32 years of service to the Trumbull County Educational Service Center, which provides special education services to Trumbull County students. She has been active in Boy Scouts and been a member of Bristol 300 Club, Bristol Athletic Organization and Bristol PTO.

WARREN — Michael Shrock, corporate vice president of human resources at First Place Bank in Warren, was among 14 bankers from across Ohio who recently graduated from the Bank Leadership Institute at the Ohio Bankers League. He was the recipient of the Robert C. Albright Award for his efforts in applying principles of leadership through the BLI program.

BOARDMAN — Debbie S. Parisi, an associate Realtor at Right Place Realty.com, has been awarded the Seniors Real Estate Specialists designation by the Seniors Real Estate Specialist Council of the National Association of Realtors. The requirements included the successful completion of comprehensive courses in understanding the needs, considerations and goals of real estate buyers and sellers aged 55 and older.

YOUNGSTOWN — James L. Blomstrom, a member in the law firm of Harrington, Hoppe & Mitchell, has been recognized among the nation’s “Top Attorneys in Business Litigation” by the publishers of Super Lawyers magazines and legal directories. The 2008 Super Lawyers Corporate Counsel Edition, issued in April, featured Blomstrom among 4,900 U.S. lawyers.
