Minister urgers prayer for Sen. Kennedy
Christian Newswire
This past week, upon hearing of Massachusetts Sen. Edward Kennedy’s brain tumor diagnosis, Revered Rob Schenck urged Christians to pray for the senator’s condition, even though their past hasn’t been so friendly, according to the Christian Newswire.
The Rev. Mr. Schenck, who is a conservative evangelical minister and heads a ministry to top government officials in Washington, was once shoved by the senator.
“I’ve always extended every courtesy and all due respect to Sen. Kennedy,” said Mr. Schenck. “But we have had a few unpleasant moments over the years including one when he physically shoved me.”
According to the Christian Newswire, the point Mr. Schenck made was that God loves all of his children and he said as a Christian it is his duty to do the same.
