Administrative Professionals Day observed by Yo-Mah-O of IAAP


CANFIELD — “Framing Your Future” was the theme for an annual Administrative Professionals Day observance and dinner planned by Yo-Mah-O Chapter of International Association of Administrative Professionals on April 23 at Tippecanoe Country Club.

The featured speaker was Dr. Roan Craig, superintendent of Mahoning County Career and Technical Center, and a 2008 Athena Award nominee.

Singled out for recognition was Christine Bidwell, the organization’s 2008 Member of the Year.

Bidwell is a department secretary in the Office of Equal Opportunity and Diversity at Youngstown State University. A chapter member since 2004, she is the current treasurer and has served on numerous committees and as assistant treasurer. She obtained her certified professional secretary designation in 1983 and her certified administrative professional designation in 2005. She is active in Beta Sigma Phi, a nonacademic sorority, for which she is serving her second term as president of the Warren City Council.

Bidwell lives in Vienna with her husband Bill. She has two sons and two stepchildren.
