SENATE BILL
SENATE BILL
Good vs. bad
Mail call: The Ohio Senate is debating a bill that would authorize voting only by mail in elections where there are ballot issues but no candidates for office.
Good call: Backers say it’s easier for voters, will increase turnout, remove long voter lines and save county boards of elections money.
Bad call: Opponents say it causes more voter error than in-person voting, invites fraud and doesn’t promote diversity because most mail-in voters tend to be upper-class whites.
