Unity trustees consider buying generator
staff report
EAST PALESTINE — Unity Township trustees are discussing the possibility of buying a generator for the township building.
The trustees said Tuesday that they are considering having specifications prepared for a generator, which would be used to supply the township building with power during an emergency. Officials said they likely will vote on the matter next month and decide whether to seek quotes for a generator.
The trustees also announced they intend to put several vehicles up for bid at the June 3 auction at Rogers Sale and Flea Market. The vehicles include a 1997 pickup truck and two fire trucks. A minimum bid for the pickup truck was set at $2,500.
In other news, the township is looking for a part-time summer worker for the road department. The position calls for the employee to work three days a week. A commercial driver’s license is required. The hourly pay rate would be based on the employee’s experience, officials said. Individuals interested in applying for the position should call the township garage at (330) 426-4318.
