TCTC student wins national competition

CHAMPION — Stephen Bada, 18, a senior at the Trumbull Career & Technical Center from McDonald, recently won the top prize for a video he produced in a national competition in Reno, Nev.

He recently spoke to the TCTC Board of Education about his first place win and delivered his address not in person, but in a video.

“He couldn’t be there because he is a key member of the McDonald track team, which was competing at the same time,” said TCTC Superintendent Wayne McClain.

Bada’s video was awarded first place for digital media production by the Business Professionals of America, a national student organization. John Bagnola, interactive multimedia teacher at TCTC, said the winning video was a three-minute “infomercial” for the organization’s National Leadership Conference on motivating students to compete at the national level.

Bada plans to attend Youngstown State University, Bagnola said.
