Summer youth camps planned in Beaver Township

staff report

NORTH LIMA — For the second consecutive year, Beaver Township will sponsor a summer youth camp program at Woodworth and Memorial parks.

The township trustees recently appointed Michaela Hasner as the township’s summer youth director.

Her responsibilities include implementing activities for youths in first through fifth grades. The trustees set her salary at $9 an hour for the part-time position, with no benefits.

Hasner teaches first grade at Youngstown Community School. A graduate of South Range High School, she earned a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education from Youngstown State University, graduating with honors.

The 2008 summer day-camp program, open to township youths, will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 16-20 at Woodworth Park and July 14-18 at Memorial Park.

There is no cost, but registration is required. The deadline for registration will be announced later.

More information about the program and other township sponsored activities is available by calling the township park board at (330) 549-9552.
