CANFIELD

May 10

Drug abuse: A 22-year-old Youngstown man was arrested for drug abuse (marijuana) and possession of drug paraphernalia on N. Broad Street.

Theft: Giant Eagle, 525 E. Main Street reported a theft of a DVD, razor and personal hygiene items totaling $69.26. Police arrested a 19-year-old Canfield woman.

Mutual aid: Police responded with the canine unit to help track a man in Beaver Township, and help set up a parameter at state Route 46 near Green Beaver and Garfield Roads. The man had fled on foot after a vehicle stop.

May 11

Drug abuse: Police arrested a 28-year-old Canfield man for drug abuse and possession of drug paraphernalia at E. Main Street and the lot of Get Go. They seized suspected marijuana.

May 12

Theft: Canfield Collision, 408 W. Main Street reported the theft of a paint sprayer, a set of paint spray guns in the original box and an auto touch-up system. Arrested was a 36-year-old Canfield woman.

May 13

Bad checks: Nemenz IGA, 8 N. Broad Street reported having two checks from Wachovia Bank returned for insufficient funds.

AUSTINTOWN

May 12

Criminal damaging: Windows on a vehicle were damaged at a home in the 4000 block of Deer Creek.

Theft: A black leather purse was stolen at McDonald’s, 1150 N. Canfield-Niles Road.

Criminal mischief: A stop sign was spray-painted on London Court and Baylor Drive.

Criminal trespass: A female suspect was issued a summons after a prior warning for criminal trespassing at Austintown Fitch High School.

Theft: A Warren woman was arrested for theft of $130.76 in merchandise from Wal-Mart, 6001 Mahoning Ave.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle was damaged at Cosmo’s, 1722 S. Raccoon Road.

Burglary: Jewelry was stolen from a home in the 2000 block of Woodland Trace.

Theft: Two juveniles were caught stealing at K-Mart, 4475 Mahoning Ave.

May 13

Theft: A window was broken out of a vehicle and a computer case was stolen at the Hampton Inn, 880 N. Canfield-Niles Road.

Criminal damaging: A window of a vehicle was broken out but nothing was reported missing at the Hampton Inn, 880 N. Canfield-Niles Road. The victim was from North Carolina.

Theft: An Ohio license plate was reported stolen at Phoenix House, 850 N. Meridian Road.

Theft: Clothing and a Uniden radar detector were stolen from a vehicle and the driver’s side window was shattered at Best Western, 870 N. Canfield-Niles Road.

Aggravated menacing: Threats were made by an ex-boyfriend at an apartment in the 400 block of S. Raccoon Road.

Theft: Six beef tenderloins worth $270 were stolen at Giant Eagle, 5220 Mahoning Ave., by an Austintown man and a Niles woman who got away.

Burglary: A computer was stolen at a home in the 40 block of N. Edgehill Avenue.

Burglary: $1,000 was stolen from a home in the 3000 block of S. Raccoon Road.

Unauthorized use of a motor vehicle: A man and a woman were accused of unauthorized use of a 1993 Oldsmobile at a home in the 100 block of S. Main Street.

May 14

Theft: Approximately $1,000 in fraudulent charges were reported at Home Savings and Loan, 4259 Kirk Road.

Threats: A threat was written on a glass door at Charly’s, 4455 Kirk Road.

Theft: $20 in gasoline was stolen at Country Fair, 1143 N. Canfield-Niles Road.

Misuse of credit card: $87.23 in gasoline was charged on a Visa card at Unimart, 3602 Mahoning Ave., and the suspect fled.

Theft: $31.05 in fuel was stolen at Pilot Oil, 1150 N. Niles-Canfield Road.

Attempted auto theft: Unknown suspects tried to steal an employee’s vehicle at Antone’s, 4837 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: $100 in fuel was stolen at Shell Gas Station, 4208 Mahoning Ave.

Lost or stolen phone: A cell phone was reported missing at Best Value Inn, 1051 N. Canfield-Niles Road.

May 15

Aggravated menacing: A 22-year-old male is a suspect of menacing at a home in the 500 block of Notre Dame Drive.

Menacing: An 18-year-old man is a suspect in menacing at a home in the 5000 block of Colgate Drive.

Traffic pursuit: A man was arrested and additional drug charges were made later after a traffic pursuit which ended at S. Meridian and New roads. The 21-year-old Austintown man was charged with drug abuse and possession of drug paraphernalia after police found drug instruments, spoons and heroin. He was also charged with resisting arrest.

Theft: Unauthorized purchases were made using a Canfield victim’s checking/debit card when $105.00 in charges were made on an account at First National Bank.

Theft from auto: A stereo from a Grand Am and the tailgate from a pick-up were stolen at Austintown Auto, 5275 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: A victim from Austintown reported to police that a Federal and a State income tax check totaling $379 were stolen.

Unauthorized use of motor vehicle: A 1995 Saturn was used without consent at a home in the 2000 block of S. Meridian Road.

Menacing by stalking: Threatening e-mails, text messages and behavior were reported at Infocision, 5740 Interstate Boulevard.

May 16

Theft: Fishing equipment was stolen from a vehicle in the 200 block of Victoria Road.

Breaking and entering: Wheels and tires were reported stolen at R.P.M. Motors, 3606 Canfield Road.

Car theft: A car was stolen from a home in the 60 block of Westminister Avenue.

Burglary: Money was missing and the door was kicked in at an apartment in the 4000 block of Washington Square Drive.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle was damaged at a home in the 70 block of S. Anderson Road.

Assault: A male was punched at Billy’s, 40 S. Meridian Road.

May 17

Curfew violation: Three juveniles were turned over to their parents at Signature Place and Oakcrest Drive.

Burglary: There was forced entry at a home in the 200 block of S. Meridian Road and numerous items were stolen.

Theft: A Nintendo D.S. and game were stolen at a home in the 70 block of Evans Avenue.

Criminal damaging: A rear taillight was damaged at Billy’s Bar, 40 S. Meridian Road.

Aggravated menacing: A female is a suspect in menacing at a home in the 3000 block of Aryshire Drive.

Menacing: A man is a suspect in an incident of menacing at a home in the 300 block of Benton Avenue.

Assault: A woman is a suspect in an assault at Cosmo’s, 1722 S. Raccoon Road.

Lost or stolen purse: A woman’s purse was reported lost or stolen at Wal-Mart, 6001 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: A Mongoose bicycle and scooter were stolen from a home in the 4000 block of Nottingham Drive.

Theft: There was no sign of forced entry but money was missing at Pizza Pan, 4218 Mahoning Ave.

Aggravated menacing: A man suspect threatened a female at a home in the 5000 block of Pineshadow Court.

May 18

Theft: A gasoline drive-off was reported at Pilot Oil, 1150 N. Niles-Canfield Road.
